Orvis FF201: Learn to Fly Fish on the Water
When you are ready for the next step, having completed our FF101 class, you are eligible to participate in our FF201 hosted excursion to a beautiful local stillwater, and the chance to catch your first fish on the fly!
10% of your FF201 purchase will go to support Anglers Against Pollution. The Angling Trust's Anglers Against Pollution campaign seeks to give anglers a voice in the fight for a better future for our environment by holding the government to account for its promises, its actions, and its responsibilities.
Fishing licence and fees apply. Lunch is not provided so please bring a packed lunch with you.
Booking is required. Although there is no age limit, attendees need to be able to engage in the whole session independently. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

You will need a fishing licence to take part in this session. It is the attendees' responsibility to acquire the appropriate licence before the day of your course. Find out more.

ITINERARY
10:00 - Meet and greet at the agreed location
Throughout the day
Get an overview of fishery and the fishing etiquette on site
Habitat, entomology and fly selection
Casting your fly rod – on grass and water. Overhead cast, roll casts and shooting line.
Line retrieving and control
Reading the water and stalking fish
Playing, landing and handling fish safely
Time to fish!
15:30 - Weigh in fish caught and complete catch returns
16:00 - Wrap up
