ORVIS FF201 – LEARN TO FLY FISH ON THE WATER

If you've completed our FF101 class, you are eligible to participate in our FF201 hosted excursion to a beautiful local stillwater, and the chance to catch your first fish on the fly! Fishing licence and fees apply. Book now.

Our FF201 session includes:

• safety,
• choosing tackle and flies,
• fish habitat,
• entomology (the science of insects),
• knot tying,
• fishing etiquette,
• how to read the water and the currents,
• how to cast,
• how to play, land, and release a fish.

BEGINNERS FLY FISHING SCHOOLS

Our Beginners Fly-Fishing Schools offer exceptional opportunities for anyone to step into the world of angling - and there’s no better place to turn for superior fly-fishing instruction than Orvis. Let us take you onto the famed River Test for one of our fly-fishing schools.

Our Beginners Schools include all of the information contained in our FF101 and FF201 sessions, and more!

You’ll receive fishing instruction aimed at the complete novice in a small group setting, and most importantly, you’ll test your newly acquired knowledge on the River Test, under the watchful eyes of our instructors.

CHALK STREAM FLY FISHING SCHOOLS

Our chalk stream fly-fishing schools offer a multitude of options for the novice and the expert angler.

Whether you're wanting to fish on the River Itchen, or the River Test at Timsbury where you can enjoy exclusive use of a private, ⅓-mile beat, our one-to-one packages can be tailored to your skill set and offer more individualised attention than our FF201 sessions or Beginners Schools.

For the more experienced angler, choose our Improvers Fly-Fishing Weekend School which takes place on the River Test, where you’ll learn how to extend your skills and refine your technique. You'll learn:
